Ms. Michelle Rose
Michelle Rose earned her Ed.S. in Instructional Technology from the University of Tennessee in 2005 and MS in Interior Design from the University of Alabama in 2001. After serving on the faculty at both the University of Southern Mississippi and Appalachian State University, Ms. Rose began as an instructor for the Department of Clothing, Textiles, and Interior Design at the University of Alabama in 2017. Ms. Rose has practiced in residential design and development for over 20 years in Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, and is a NCIDQ certified Interior Designer, NKBA Certified Kitchen and Bath Designer/Educator (CKE/CBE), AutoCAD Certified Professional (ACP), and NAHB Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS). Ms. Rose has presented and published several works in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), served as the Teaching Editor for the IDEC Exchange national publication, and served as a NKBA Accreditation Evaluation Verification Team Member. Ms. Rose has been a member of the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA), and the Mississippi Coalition for Interior Design Legislation (MCIDL). Serving on the IIDA Delta Regional Board for Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas, Ms. Rose held the positions of VP of Communications, Webmaster, Newsletter Editor in Chief, Mississippi City Center Co-Director, and committee member for the Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) Design Competition & Gala Committee.
